2018 Beards & Braids for Busy Season - No Kid Hungry® | GTN

Written by Barb Kolb | March 23, 2018

We couldn’t be more excited to launch our fifth annual Beards and Braids for Busy Season campaign! To increase support and raise awareness to the No Kid Hungry® cause, we had a fun Q&A session with Jessica Bomberg, Senior Manager of Peer-to-Peer Fundraising for No Kid Hungry®.

Read what Jessica had to say and show your support by donating and sharing for this great cause!

GL: What does your organization focus on?

JB: No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger through effective programs that provide kids with the food they need.

GL: What does your organization mean to you? Why do you work there?

JB: As a mom, I can’t imagine my kids not having the food they need to just be kids. But that’s the reality for too many kids in our country. It shouldn’t be that way and I’m proud to work for an organization fighting for kids who can’t fight for themselves.

GL: What were your initial thoughts regarding our BBFBS campaign?

JB: I think it’s great! We love to see companies and their employees engaging with our work in ways that make sense for them.

GL: Have you ever been approached for a campaign like this?

JB: Yes, we have several companies throughout the year that host employee engagement/giving programs for No Kid Hungry.

GL: What does it mean to you / your organization to be chosen?

JB: We know that there are a lot of causes and charities that are worthwhile of your time and attention. We are honored to be chosen for the BBFBS campaign this year.

GL: What value do you see in a campaign like this?

JB: Not only will you be raising vital funds to help us feed more kids, you’re also helping spread awareness of an often overlooked problem. You are giving a voice to kids all over the country.
