Randall Timm

Canada
Director

“By always listening first, we can understand the client’s levels of complexity within each assignment and their assignment program. Only then can we provide valuable insight and develop solutions that support a client’s specific goals and motivations and ultimately lift the veil of complexity related to their global assignments.”

Randall Timm joined GTN in 2020 and serves as a Director in GTN’s Canadian office where he leads GTN’s Canadian services, supporting clients with mobile employee populations throughout Canada. Randall has over 25 years of experience assisting multi-national companies with their globally mobile workforces, as well as assisting athletes and entertainers with their international tax affairs. His experience includes both Canadian and US income tax compliance, payroll, social tax, compensation, and tax policy consulting. His vast experience and understanding of the complexities of mobility tax allow him to uncover valuable insights and develop solutions that fit the clients’ needs.

Before joining GTN, Randall developed his career working for various firms, including both Big 4 and second tier accounting firms, where he gained experience in mobility tax and leading teams. Prior to joining public practice, he acquired invaluable international tax experience within the Canada Revenue Agency.

Randall is best known for:

  • His ability to navigate through the nuances of an individual’s situation to determine the best solution;
  • His dedication to understanding a client’s pain points and figuring ways to overcome them;
  • His attentiveness and responsiveness to each individual he works with.

Randall earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton University and is also an Enrolled Agent. Randall has held various leadership roles by volunteering in the local Ottawa community, both at the athletic and scholastic levels.

Outside of the office, Randall enjoys his Bernese Mountain dogs, various sports, and is working on completing his admission to the ADK46ers, a group whose members have climbed the 46 major peaks of New York’s Adirondack Mountains.
