GTN uses artificial intelligence to support quality, efficiency, and innovation while maintaining strong professional oversight, data protection standards, and a commitment to client confidentiality.
GTN’s Commitment to Responsible AI
At GTN, we use artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the quality, efficiency, consistency, and responsiveness of the services we deliver to our clients. We believe AI is a powerful tool that, when used responsibly and thoughtfully, can improve outcomes for our clients while allowing our professionals to focus more time on strategic guidance and personalized support.
We approach the use of AI with intention, discipline, and accountability. AI at GTN is governed by established policies, security standards, and professional oversight designed to protect client information and uphold the quality our clients expect.
This page outlines how we use AI, the principles that guide our approach, and the safeguards we have in place to support privacy, security, and responsible use.
How AI Supports Our Clients
Our use of AI is focused on enhancing the client experience and supporting high-quality service delivery:
- Deeper insights: AI helps our team analyze large volumes of tax and financial data more efficiently, supporting faster identification of trends, risks, and opportunities.
- More time for strategic advisory: By streamlining routine and administrative tasks, AI allows our professionals to dedicate more time personalizing guidance and client support.
- Staying ahead of regulatory changes: AI-assisted research supports our professionals as they monitor evolving legislative and regulatory developments across jurisdictions.
- Enhanced consistency: AI-assisted workflows help identify potential inconsistencies and support quality control across multi-jurisdiction tax deliverables.
- Faster turnaround times: AI can accelerate research, analysis, and document preparation, helping our teams respond more efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Scalable and efficient service delivery: AI‑supported efficiencies help GTN continue delivering high‑quality services in a consistent, scalable, and cost‑effective manner.
AI is not about replacing the human expertise that defines our firm. It is about strengthening and supporting it.
How We Use AI
GTN uses a curated set of firm-approved AI tools to support internal operations and enhance our service delivery model. These tools are used across four key areas.
- Productivity and collaboration: Supporting drafting, organization, workflow management, and internal communication processes.
- Research and analysis: Assisting with research, summarization, data analysis, and identification of relevant insights.
- Client service enhancement: Supporting responsiveness, workflow efficiency, and consistency within AI-assisted service processes.
- Marketing and communications: Assisting with content development, visual assets, and communication materials.
AI tools are used to support our professionals, not replace them. Human judgement, professional experience, and thorough review remain central to every client engagement and deliverable. AI-assisted outputs are reviewed by qualified GTN professionals before being used in client work or published externally.
Our AI Principles
GTN's use of AI is guided by the following principles:
- Human Oversight: AI supports our professionals; it does not independently make client, tax, legal, or business decisions. GTN team members remain responsible for reviewing, validating, and approving all AI-assisted outputs.
- Accountability: GTN professionals are accountable for all work products, including content developed with AI assistance. All outputs must meet GTN's professional standards, review requirements, and quality expectations.
- Transparency: We are committed to being transparent about how AI is used within our operations and service delivery processes.
- Ethical Use: AI tools must be used in accordance with GTN's policies related to confidentiality, conduct, anti-discrimination, acceptable use, and data protection. AI may never be used to create misleading, inappropriate, discriminatory, or harmful content.
- Security and Data Protection: AI tools and related processes are subject to review, governance, and approval procedures designed to protect confidential information and reduce security and privacy risks. GTN applies a privacy‑by‑design approach when evaluating and implementing AI technologies.
Approved AI Technologies
GTN maintains a managed list of approved AI tools that have been formally reviewed and authorized for use. Tools are evaluated based on factors including data handling practices, security controls, privacy considerations, vendor safeguards, and alignment with GTN’s internal technology and data protection standards.
GTN team members may not use unapproved AI tools for business purposes involving GTN or client information. Requests for new AI tools must be reviewed and approved by the Technology Operations Manager and/or Data Privacy & Security Officer before use.
Human Review and Professional Responsibility
AI-generated or AI-assisted content may not always be accurate, complete, or free from error. For this reason, GTN professionals are required to review all AI-assisted outputs to validate they meet our standards for quality, accuracy, and appropriateness.
AI tools are not a substitute for professional tax, legal, or financial advice. All client-facing deliverables are prepared, reviewed, and approved by qualified GTN professionals.
Privacy and Data Protection
Privacy by design and protecting confidential and personal information is foundational to how GTN operates. Our use of AI is aligned with the same privacy, security, and confidentiality standards that govern all GTN systems, processes, and client engagements.
GTN is recognized on the official EU-US Data Privacy Framework list maintained by the US Department of Commerce and complies with the UK and Swiss extensions. We also undergo an annual SOC 2 Type 2 audit, reflecting our ongoing commitment to strong security controls and responsible data management practices.
Our AI governance practices are aligned with GTN’s broader privacy and security framework, including internal policies related to data protection, confidentiality, acceptable technology use, and risk management.
